The station building sits at right angles to the train tracks and is one storey high only. Occupying an area of 3,625 m² on this one level, it is divided into two sections designed for different uses and with distinct features. The first section houses the area intended for the lobby, customer traffic areas, and the zone marked out for boarding. From a structural point of view, this is an octagonal prism protected from the sun by metal plates. The second section, connected to the first, holds the facilities for the general public and the internal functioning of the station: ticket sales and customer services, commercial premises, toilets, offices, cafeteria services, left luggage, changing rooms, equipment rooms, store rooms, etc.
Built with energy efficiency criteria in mind, the station features water-saving systems, thermal solar panels for hot water production and an extremely efficient temperature control system based on the use of geothermic energy. Taking advantage of the constant temperature of the subsoil, it also represents a clean and renewable form of energy.
