Adif hosts the 6th edition of the NextStation Congress in Madrid
The NextStation 2017 Congress, under the motto Smart Stations in Smart Cities, and organized jointly with UIC turned Madrid into the center of the international rail sector digital transformation process.
Railway companies, universities, private companies and public institutions from all over the world gathered in Spain to share the latest developments concerning stations in a global congress that was a meeting point for the best experts in the field of design, financing and management of railway stations.
The main issues discussed during the Congress were low-emission technologies, competitiveness, innovation, Big Data, governance, accessibility, intermodality, business development, security and urban integration.
Experts came from companies such as SNCF, RZD, Deutsche Bahn, Railways of Japan, SNCB, the main railway operator from Holland (NS), Iranian Railways (IRIR), Korean Railway Corporation (Korail), the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), universities, public institutions as well as Renfe and Ineco, strategic partners in the Spanish railway sector, as well as Acciona, Areas, Indra, Saba, Sopra Steria Telefónica, Siemens and Thyssenkrupp.
